ABSTRACT

Aceh is one of the provinces in Indonesia that is vulnerable to several disasters caused by natural hazards. The earthquake and tsunami in 2004 have given considerable losses to the people of Aceh and impacted people's lives and education process. Some of the impacts include the deaths of tens of thousands of students and teachers and 1,488 schools damaged, which disrupted the education process of 150,000 students. In addition, the people of Aceh are also faced with disasters caused by non-natural hazards, namely is the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Aceh has local wisdom, such as Rumoh Aceh, patchouli, jamblang, and Nandong Smong, which has been known from ancient times across generations and has been proved by research for their benefits in disaster mitigation. This study had developed a game to introduce disaster mitigation combined with local wisdom in Aceh called Serigala Siaga Bencana (SERGANA), adopted and modified from the werewolf game. The validity test of this game involved 15 students from Dayah Darul Hikmah, who were then fostered as a team of students for disaster preparedness with knowledge, understanding, and practice of preparedness in dealing with disasters. The results showed an increase in the score from pre-test to post-test after playing the game SERGANA. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many parents to lose their jobs and impacted their ability to purchase healthy food, affecting their children's development. This study aims to determine the factors that influence stunting in children during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a cross-sectional study. The population was mothers who had toddlers aged 24-59 months (n=145). The sample was chosen through simple random sampling. The data were collected through height tests, interviews, and questionnaires. A univariate analysis was used to obtain a picture of each variable. The bivariate analysis was conducted with the chi-square test, and the multivariate analysis was performed using binary logistic regression. The results showed that 25.5% of children were experiencing stunting. There was a significant relationship between the eating habits of toddlers, childcare, history of infectious disease, mothers’ visitation to health services, mothers’ education level, and family income level with the prevalence of stunting. The level of family income has the most dominant relationship with stunting prevalence. Therefore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to lower the prevalence of stunting through cross-sectoral collaborations regarding health service modifications according to the socio-economic level of the community and the incidence of COVID-19 cases. © 2022, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. ABSTRACT

Academic moralization, which has been internalized through educational institutions with teacher supervision at schools, now falls into a decline in line with the implementation of distance education due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This article aims to show that an educational system that does not offer in-person teaching leads to students ignoring the values of academic morality, such as plagiarism, discipline, and responsibility. This article employs a qualitative descriptive method by relying on online news mapping data as a secondary source and verified data from interviews with elementary school students as the primary source. The results of this study indicate that online education as a learning solution during the pandemic has caused students to plagiarize, cheat, rely on others to complete their tasks, and lose an overall sense of discipline and responsibility. This study suggests a new direction of moral education that does not only rely on teacher supervision but rather builds the wisdom of students' independence upon learning.

ABSTRACT

This study's goal is to see how the community copes with the Pandemic's effects. 1038 people in the COVID-91 red zone filled out the online survey questionnaire. Both the modified coping and moral panic questionnaires (Folkman & Lazarus, 1988) were completed by all participants. According to the findings of this study, eight coping mechanisms were discovered, including problem-solving plans, seeking social support, and isolating yourself from the situation. Planful problem solving (r: -0291;p: 0000), social support (r: -0215;p: 0000), distancing (r: -0270);self-control (r: -0327;p: 0000), positive reassurance (r: -0211;p: 0000) and self-control (r: 0327) are six coping styles that are negatively correlated with moral panic (r: -0,408;p: 0,000). Confrontive coping (r: 0,122;p: 0,000) and escape-avoidance coping are two coping styles that correlate with moral panic (r: 0,122;p: 0,000). (r: 0,196;p: 000) Not reacting aggressively and excessively is the best way to avoid panic. Be wary, but not terrified.

ABSTRACT

During the Covid19 pandemic, many people are looking for healthy foods to boost their immune systems. The immune system can be boosted by consuming foods that contain vitamins, phenols, flavonoids and antioxidants, and one of these foods is sweet potato leaves. Sweet potato leaves have not been utilised optimally. So, to increase its utilisation, sweet potato leaves can be processed into a popular product, one of which is ice cream. The purpose of this study was to make healthy ice cream with the addition of sweet potato leaves extract. This study used a Completely Randomised Design (CRD) 2 factors. The first factor was the concentration of skim milk (10%, 13%, 16%). Meanwhile, the second factor was the sweet potato leaves extract 5%, 10%, 15%. Each treatment was repeated three times. The test parameters used in this study were physical analysis, namely overrun;chemical analysis, namely antioxidants (IC50), fat content, protein content, carbohydrate content, and crude fibre content;and organoleptic tests, including taste, colour, aroma, and softness. The results proved that S3D1 treatment with a concentration of 16% skim milk and 5% sweet potato leaves extract was the best treatment. This treatment obtained the highest Result Value (RV), which is 0.78. The other parameter results obtained were the taste test 6.44 (like);overrun 65%;softness 5.96 (like);IC50 value 112.30 ppm;protein content of 5.63%;fat content 0.76%;carbohydrate content 10.02%;crude fibre content 5.27%;vitamin C content16.79 mg;aroma 5,52 (like);and colour 5.59 (like).
